ELUCARE® TD is used as a starting material for the production of surfactants, specialty esters and specialty solvents.
What is ELUCARE® TD and what is it used for?
ELUCARE® TD (isotridecyl alcohol, abbreviated ITDA) is a high-purity branched C13 oxo alcohol. The product is an important starting material for the production of surface-active substances, so-called surfactants (especially ethoxylates), specialty esters, polymer stabilizers, textile auxiliaries, lubricants, resins and special solvents.
ITDA ethoxylates are used in high-quality applications such as homecare products or industrial cleaners, but also as wetting additives, e.g. in textile processing. ITDA special esters are used in special lubricant formulations in polymer stabilizers and in high-quality paints and coatings.

Where ELUCARE® TD is produced and how it is transported?
In our state-of-the-art C4 Verbund, we process various exclusively C4-based raw material flows from steam crackers and refineries, such as crude-C4 (so-called CC4) or FCC-C4 (fluid catalytic cracking-C4). The high degree of C4 purity of the intermediates enables the production of high-value derivatives. The use of special purification and reprocessing technologies safely eliminates any undesirable impurities. Our continuous production in a dedicated production facility ensures constant and reliable availability of our products. ELUCARE® TD is produced on the basis of pure C12 olefin in a state-of-the-art continuous hydroformylation process at Evonik's largest production site in Marl, Germany. We offer our customers ELUCARE® TD in tank trucks, tank containers, intermediate bulk containers (IBCs - 1,000l) and drums (200l).
