Flexibility. The purpose defines the choice.

ELATUR® CH (di-isononyl-1,2-cyclohexanoate)

ELATUR® CH (DINCH) is a modern, low-viscosity plasticizer with very good low-temperature flexibility for a variety of applications.

Plasticizers from Evonik

Plasticizers from Evonik offer manufacturers of flexible PVC and their products flexibility, safety and above-average technical performance with a consistently high level of quality.

They act like a molecular lubricant: The molecules sandwich themselves between the polymer chains of PVC. This makes the originally tightly-packed, rigid structure flexible, allowing the chains to slide past each other.

Our promises at a glance:

What is ELATUR® CH?

ELATUR® CH, also known as DINCH, is a modern plasticizer for demanding applications. With the ELATUR® family, Evonik offers the latest generation of plasticizers. ELATUR® CH is a modern plasticizer for demanding applications. ELATUR® CH makes polymer materials flexible and pliable in both their processing and application. Whether it's decorative wallpaper or hard-wearing vinyl flooring, the PVC used in these products is made flexible and pliable by plasticizers, which is why it is so versatile.

What is ELATUR® CH used for?

ELATUR® CH is a primary plasticizer and one of the most important components of many flexible PVC products. With its special properties, the molecule improves the flexibility of the PVC raw compound and thus simplifies its handling.

Plasticized PVC is used in many everyday items - for example, in flooring. PVC is also highly popular with DIY enthusiasts and decorators, and with good reason. Vinyl wallpaper with a three-dimensional embossed structure gives any room an appealing ambience. Vinyl flooring is also available in a myriad of designs: whether elegant marble, warm wood or shiny stone - the material can deceptively imitate all of these. Regardless of its appearance, the material offers a pleasantly warm surface and provides good insulation.

ELATUR® CH is also used in medical products such as cannulas and respiratory masks. ELATUR® CH is also contained in adhesives and sealants.

A few technical details:

ELATUR® CH is a proven plasticizer developed, among other things, for applications involving close human contact, such as in medical devices. Key features include low viscosity, low migration tendency, excellent low-temperature flexibility and an excellent toxicological profile.

Here you can find further product information (e.g. technical data sheet, SDS, etc.) about ELATUR® CH, our plasticizer brochure and an overview of our plasticizer portfolio.

Where is ELATUR® CH produced and how is it transported?

In our state-of-the-art C4 Verbund, we process various raw material streams such as crude-C4 or FCC-C4 (fluid catalytic cracking-C4) from steam crackers or refineries. ELATUR® CH is based on Isononanol (INA) and is mainly used for the production of flexible PVC products. The product is produced at Evonik's site in Marl, Germany. We offer our customers the following means of transport for ELATUR® CH: tank trucks and ISO containers.
