Marl (Germany). Evonik has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Czech chemical company DEZA for the production of the plasticizer tri-isononyl trimellitate (TINTM). Both companies intend to manufacture the plasticizer as part of a tolling arrangement.

The new plasticizer is to be launched on the market at the beginning of next year. TINTM is to be marketed under the brand name ELATUR® TM and will be characterized by particularly high temperature resistance, low volatility and low migration behavior. This makes the product particularly suitable for high-temperature cables and for automotive interiors.

The product launch strengthens Evonik's global business in plasticizers, which are used in particular for PVC products. "The market for plasticizers is growing steadily. With our consistent focus on INA-based plasticizers and the introduction of another high-quality product, we are meeting our customers' requirements in the best possible way," says Roland Pietz, Head of Market Segment Oxo Alcohols and Plasticizers at Evonik Performance Intermediates. "We have confidence in the future viability of our products and will gradually expand our portfolio and adjust our capacities accordingly."

Evonik already launched the innovative latest-generation plasticizer ELATUR® DINCD at the beginning of this year. The product portfolio also includes the products VESTINOL® 9, ELATUR® CH (DINCH) and ELATUR® DPT.
