#7 – Recipe Christmas Cookies
Christmas Time is Baking Time
Ingredients
250 g Soft butter
250 g Sugar
500 g Flour (#405)
2 Eggs
½ Sachet of backing powder
Chocolate coating
Powdered sugar
Lemon juice
Sugar sprinkles and chopped nuts for decoration
Cookie cutter forms
Preparation:
Mix the butter, sugar and eggs. Mix the flour and the backing powder and gradually stir with the butter, sugar and eggs. Put the dough aside and let it rest a couple of hours if possible. This is not necessary, though.
Roll out the dough on a floured surface, cut out the cookies and place them on a baking tray, with baking paper. Bake at about 200 ° for 5 - 8 minutes until the edges are slightly brown. The cookies are still a bit soft, but when cooling down they will become hard.
Stir the lemon juice and powdered sugar until you get a thick sugar icing. Decorate the cookies by attaching sugar sprinkles, chopped nuts or melted chocolate coating.
